Friends and Neighbors, join with us to stop the approval of the cell phone tower next to the Antrim Playhouse.

Cell Tower News:
The meeting to discuss the cell tower on March 24th with the planning board of Wesley Hills has been postponed. No new official date has been announced. Verizon asked for this extension since they have not yet complied with the Village's request to perform an antenna test on the pre-existing tower located on the Mitch Miller property. Please contact Suzanne if you have any questions at smitchell@fullmotionpictures.com

Verizon claims a gap in coverage exists along a narrow corridor along Route 202 and that this “gap” justifies approval of their application. However, the experience of the residents living in the “gap” zone is that Verizon, as well as all the other major carriers have excellent coverage there. Gordon Wren the Head of Emergency Services for Rockland County conducted a twenty minute drive test with Suzanne Mitchell throughout the area in question. This test found no gap in coverage for any of the four major carriers in this area. Gordon Wren has also submitted a letter to the Wesley Hills Planning Board stating that no coverage gap exists.

In addition, a very large cell phone tower already exists not far away at a much higher altitude in the middle of the Mitch Miller property off Lime Kiln Road. Verizon has not yet collocated on this tower, even though they have signed a contract to do so. It is very likely that once operational on the Lime Kiln tower, Verizon will not need a new tower at Antrim Playhouse anyway.

We urgently need financial support to wage this fight as there are significant costs involved. Please send your donations to: Stopthetowernow@gmail.com
